Wear Schedule

  • Start Gradually

If your child is new to orthotics, begin with shorter wear periods and gradually increase the duration. For example, start with wearing in shoes for 1-2 hours in a day, then 2-3 hours the next day, gradually increasing until your child can wear their Trax for the full day.

  • Daily Use

Most children will benefit from wearing their orthotics throughout the day, especially during activities that put stress on the feet, such as running, jumping, or standing for long periods.

  • Initial Adjustment Period

It's normal to experience an adjustment period during the first few days of wearing orthotics. Correct alignment can be difficult to become accustomed to for some children, some children can wear Trax all day without a gradual Increase. Be patient with the process.

Daily Care

  • Inspect

Check your child’s Trax daily for any signs of wear, tear, or damage.

  • Clean

Trax generally don’t need much cleaning.  If needed, gently clean Trax with mild soap and water, then air dry completely. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

  • Check Fit

Regularly assess if Trax still fit comfortably. As your child's feet grow, you may need to replace them with the next size.

Shoe Recomendation

Our Trax Orthotics are designed to be versatile and adaptable, seamlessly fitting into most of your child's existing shoes. This means you don't have to replace your child's favorite footwear. However, if you're looking for a shoe that's specifically designed to accommodate orthotics, here are some of our favorite brads.

  • Rigid Heel

This feature works with Trax to maintain the alignment of the foot and prevent excessive motion.

  • Adequate Depth

The shoe should be deep enough to accommodate the orthotics without causing discomfort or irritation.

  • Adequate Toe Box

The shoe should be wide enough for the toes to have ample room allowing for natural forefoot movement within the shoe.
